i can't stand hardcore. if the only difference was the lack of radar and hud, i'd play it. but everyone camps so hard that it becomes annoying to play. nothing but campers. and i mean real campers, staying in the same spot for 5 minutes, and bouncing betties everywhere. its like everyone says, "oh crap, no radar! i can't possibly move around without a radar. I know, i'll just camp right in this spot where i spawned." ridiculous.
