How is the iPad innovatuive, when tablet pc's have been around for years?

Just because Apple say they are innovative, doesn't mean they are.

They also claimed their Apple II was the best selling computer of all time, deliberately lying about the C=64 beating their asses.

@matthauke - I suspect you've been reading @charlie_brooker, which is NOT Charlie Brooker. Here's one from his real channel (@charltonbrooker):

Macbooks are perfectly fine laptops, equivalent to a Lenovo or Toshiba, etc.. They have pretty crappy keyboards, but other than that they're fine (a bit overpriced, but not as much as they used to be).

@RFC3514 computer jargon aside, he actually does own a Macbook, iPhone and iPad (from what I gather on his twitter). The article, as far as I remember, states him loathing Apple but inevitably buying into them. Which to be fair most people do and end up hooked on their products so no doubt he has issues with them, but he still owns them so it's a little ironic. I can't even see this video anymore since C4 have blocked it. I don't even remember the content :/

@matthauke - Not true. He just says that he's fed up with his Sony Vaio and "might buy a Macbook". Which is really a PC (x86 Intel CPU, etc.), and can run OSX and Windows (both of which let you run the software you want).

Chalie's main issue with Apple (same as any real computer geek) is the way they're killing their own legacy in open computing and pushing iOS toys, which are crippleware designed to lock in their clients and milk them. Tools (OSX) vs. fashion accessories (iOS).

@thinedoor2 As an American (and a Lewis Black fan) I can honestly say that Charlie Brooker is light-years beyond LB and consistently creates some of the sharpest, funniest, most innovative, and at times profound media commentary out there. And he makes good zombie movies.
