Yuko Ichihara Tribute.wmv

Hihi, I'm new to cosplay. Picked Yuko from XXXHolic cuz I love her wit and anime very much! Costume and accessories were hand made (no sewing machine yet). Umbrella and 'paper' fan were purchased from the streets of Malacca....dang, I love Malacca!

First public appearance in CF 2009. Appear again in NIPS Crazy Challenge 2010. Ahh...do comment but have mercy!

great outfit. any advice for a first time cosplayer. going to my first sakura con with my kids. i love this character just hoping i have a chance to pull it off at 41. i am even going to try and not use a wig but maybe a few extensions. you looked amazing in that outfit and you made it all yourself.i have someone helping with both my dresses (doing two difffrent outfits of yuko but making all the head pieces. wish me luck and any advice would be great.

@1moonwitch Cosplay generally touches two points - the costume (cos) i.e the overall look and playing out the character (play). For the costume, do pay more attention to the details, from the type of fabric, colour, accessories donned correctly, the motive of the original pattern to the styling of the wig/real hair and make up. As for the character :) we should be able to pull off when we know the character enough (anticipate how they will carry themselves, the way the smile, smirk, grin).
