Testing my own personlized replacement RF transistor in a 27Mhz export transceiver. This transistor i use as my own general purpose replacement for the obsolete Mitsubishi 2SC1969/2SC2312 transistors for my own repairs. HFR-20W = High Frequency Radio - 20 watts(PEP). Also under development is a new hi-powered version which will produce 25+ watts PEP.
HFR-20W replacement transistor now available direct from "weazle66" at EBAY.

  • if the radio pre driver is blown, will the radio still transmit?

  • @haassman I doubt it, the driver and final require RF from the predriver to amplify so if the predriver has failed there will be no RF to the driver so no RF to the final.

  • I ordered a set of "sc1969" a bit ago from China. Well they look like the ones in the video but they say 920 rather than 820. Not the first time I have learned the hard way since taking up CB's. I am fortunate to have ran into this site though because I would have been extremely upset if I had to replace the finals in my Galaxy 99V and had crap. I've already gone to e-bay and put the proper ones advertised here on my watch list and will be ordering a few in a couple weeks.

  • There are loads of Fake 2SC1969 and similar RF transistors on the net and especially EBAY.

Mitsubishi switched to MOSFET technology some years ago and stopped making the 2SC1969 types years ago, you can still find the original Mitsi's here and there but they are expensive.

The Fakes are generally cheap and easy to spot although most buy them because they think there getting a good deal, the CB-20W transistor is a good replacement if you get the real ones!

  • question.if you can ask to be made custom transistor like 2sc1969..then why dont you ask for you to be made mrf477 again? that would be a big bang...40w per transistor.....whoow..ps- i will order 3transisitors from you...regards and thanks for details..

  • MRF477 is all ready being worked on, and when i have tested samples of new replacement and it passes tests then it will be considered for production.

  • now try to super tune that thing down to about 2-3 watt dead key on am and it should sound good.

  • Now don't get me wrong, i like rabbits very much - they make a excellent stew!!!

  • I all ready have a transistor like this listed on EBAY.

Look for CB-20W (2SC1969) you will find it, the price is 5.65 GBP which is about 9USD.

  • Cool! Where can i buy these replacement trannies and what is the price?
