Looks like it was filmed at the same time as Making the Boys, it is a nice companion piece to that. Mart Crowley has said that he never thought that it would be considered groundbreaking or anything like that, but indeed it was, and still is. I had always heard about it, growing up as a gay man, and I never saw it until 2010. It is wonderful. I was only 7 going on 8 when it was released. It never came to my town. I would have to find out about it later

At age 15, this play/film was a thunderstorm in my brain - as a next generation gay. Years later, in response (I suppose), I finally wrote 'My Night with Rock Hudson' & 'I Am My Imaginary Friend'. (Clips of both are on YouTube.)
