the bible never contradicts itself.man translation do to fit it's purpose.by taking out the Name Yahweh in verse one was the first mistake.the encyclopedia judaica,vol 7,pg680 explain this.verse 2 the word 'became'is missing.the word 'without',a hebrew and chaldee lexicon to the old testament by Julius Furst,pg1460,shows this word means chaos,a vain worthless thing,full of God worship(the worship of elohim). i just show you 2 errors in the 1st and 2nd verse and you try to breakdown 2ch. in 5mins

I am not an Atheist.....but having read the bible i also found it to be contradictory in the extreme. it's also totalitarian, anti-human, sexist, homophobic and encourages people to be subservient and not question authority....or anything else, for that matter! If we were subservient and always obeyed authorities, we'd all be on our way to aushwitz right now....

I think the days talked about in the bible of the beginning of creation where not literal days as we know them to be but ages So man was created on the 6Th age How many years those ages were may have varied The age is the beginning and ending of one creation to the next It like saying 6 stages of creation Thats what I heard any way Not sying thats correct just saying its what I had heard from somewhere
