No, socialism has never failed. It has only sometimes been perverted for nefarious interests. The best nations in the world are all socialist to one degree or another. Even in Christianity, socialism is a central principle. Obama's ideas will help millions while Dick "the Dungeonmaster" Cheney has only brought America to its knees with his mad wars and devilish policies!
The Free market sold America down the river and today America has bailed it out. So much for "capitalism"!

At a panel on national security policy at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday, a prominent lawyer from the Bush administration's Department of Justice said he was concerned that the higher number of terrorist executions taking place under Obama was compromising U.S. intelligence operations.
"Why have executions increased?" asked Viet Dinh, a professor at Georgetown University Law Center and one of the authors of the USA Patriot Act.

Why would I believe he voted against Obama when he endorsed him on Meet the Press? I wanted this man to run for president against Bush in 2000, but alas he said he never would. I do not think that socialism will work in this country because most people would oppose an outright socialist government. There are government-run social services that absolutely fit our model though, such as social security, medicare, schools, police/fire/rescue, medicaid, TriCare, etc.
