Oh wow, I have the EXACT same keyboard, and the funny thing is after it being in my attic for years it's circuit bent itself and sounds really awesome when playing the backing tracks and things like the ambulance sound effect. It only works for a few minutes at a time though =(. Great work with this one!

it's not the best oscillations but it's ok.
These midi keyboards were always crap. They always sounded like crap.
Never knew why they couldn't make real piano keyboard.

I am looking at the SA-5 sitting on my nightstand right now....
"WHY CAN'T YOU DO THAT??" O_o I think it's time I try something like this myself. This is one of the best circuit bending videos I've seen.

I thought this was going to suck like most circuit bending jewtube vids but I was pleasantly surprised this time.

@fabianlujan perhaps the liquid in the battery bridged a few contacts, which have become loose after some time

hello! I'm not trying to bend this keyboard but my little son have one.
from time to time, when he turn it on I hear a sound like a motorcycle, constantly and it changes if I turn it off and on again.
I leave it for a while and when returned, it works fine.
What could it be?
I've had a battey leak and after that this issues begun.
Thanks!
This is very cool!! I can't belive you are taking these lil' "toy" keyboards and extracting such warped and wicked sounds out of them! Would an SK-5 work for a mod like this? And does one have be an electronics Whiz
to do a mod like this? Thanks!

Hi, If you look for 'More from xd515' you will find an SK-5 that has also had the treatment :-)
I use electronics theory to work out the modifications, rather than random messing about, but If I find any good mods I make them public so anyone can use them. The mods for this SA-5 are posted on casperelectronics dot com.
Cheers
Paul
