This is what happened. They basically threw him under the bus. Here is a transcript of the phone call when Newt resigned. This is what a leader is all about. Not the trash they put out today and say that it is fact such as what Romney is doing.

He was exonerated on this one thing. He was guilty of other charges that he made go away. He was found guilty of breaking rule 45. He was probably guilty of more. He was vindicated on that one charge.
