Actually, I work with a nonprofit Equine rescue and as I have connections with other rescues...we have had a decrease of calls for horses in need. A positive awareness coming out of this antislaughter movement is that people are becoming more aware and actually thinking before they get a horse...if they can afford it or not.

I think it is a matter of being responsible for our lives and all that that includes. Not discarding a horse or animal because you don't want it anymore.

I ask my self how one can load the hugh horses into a trailer! Especially so many! There are things I guess which are not done to understand! Thank you for this video and the hard work!

all I have to say is, instead of whining and crying over slaughter we need to make it better. We need to raise the standards have proper trailers and processes in place that the animals don't go through the abuse before the end. I used to be as outspoken with slaughter as the rest of you but it's necessary, what makes a horse different from a cow? I have a friend that has pet cows, he rides them and teaches them tricks... tell me the difference. I myself own 3 horses.

What I don't understand from many people is why they think horses shouldn't be slaughtered because they are "prettier". I think there are better reasons. Horses are amazing, as are other animals. You look into their eyes and see their past, present, and future. However, I wouldn't want to be killed because there is a horse standing next to me, while I was born a cow, or pig. I don't see how people can have the heart to do these things to any animal.

Trust me i hate horse slaughter, and how the horses have to travel and what there traveling in and the abuse they get when they arrive. But we all have to face the fact that america is over run by horses. people keep breeding horses like crazy. So the left over horses have to go somewhere, i hate horse slaughter but i do know it has to happen one way or another. I do think that there should be better laws about hauling them and about how they euthanize(sp?) them. I love horses the are the best!

if u don't believe slaughter is wrong, then just think about YOU being shoved in a strange smell car with loads other people, just think of YOU traveling miles & miles with other people sitting on top of you, just think of YOU being paralized then hung by YOUR feet, and have a knife go through YOU neck, and YOUR in sides taken out and YOU skin being bined.

platinumpitviper, I for one care about cows, pigs, chickens...etc. I cry whenever I see them crammed into those horrible trailers, on their way to slaughter (of course, I'm a vegetarian) But for most people eating horses and dogs is taboo...probably because of the service that they provide (historically and currently) to mankind, and their complete trust in humans. Human civilization owes a huge debt to the horse.
