@piecharthosen yeah but maybe the teddy bear was named after the bear in the zoo
-
Winnie was named after Christopher Robin's stuffed teddy bear :D
-
the winnipeg zoo has a statue of winnie and colburne near the front gate to commorate winie the pooh's namesake
-
Zoogoer: (to the bear) Go back to Toronto!

this was always my favorite heritage moment. Didn't need to take a history class, these moments taught me everything I need to know about Canadian history!

What's funny is that Christopher Robin, his dad, and Mr. Shepherd all lived to hate Winnie the Pooh. Christopher Robin was made fun of for the rest of his life, and his dad and Mr. Shepherd, despite being critically acclaimed in their fields, were forever known only for a silly children's book.

The soldier who names Winnie is VERY FINE.
-
"Why poo Son?" "After my home town, Winnipeg" XD
-
@Ashloup "A young Canadian soldier's bear..."

I don't understand how this is Canadian heritage. The author, illustrator, and Christopher Robin himself were all English...
