The date was Feb. 22, 2000 in Ames, Iowa. The Cyclones had been picked sixth in the Big 12 race, but by now they had positioned themselves to compete for the conference championship. Standing in the way was two home games against highly-rated Texas and Oklahoma State. The Cyclones would win both games, proving that nothing was going to stand between them and a Big 12 Championship. In doing so, Big 12 Player of the Year Marcus Fizer proved that nothing could stand between him and the basket.
