This was shot on a wet 31 December 1983, B83 was leading the 1315 hrs empty grain to Dunolly, X38 was leading the1430hrs return to Maryborough, the crew were John Preston ,Driver,Daryl Milne assistant, I ran all my trains at the max speed allowed , that's the way I was taught , I do miss bending the throttle even today, one thing I don't miss is the B----- night shift

How I remember looking back at those drunken snakes of short wheel base four wheelers wondering how in hell they stayed on. Great catch of one of those last gasps to retain guards vans.
