Governor Schwarzenegger is proposing an initiative to introduce digital textbooks into schools. It will move Californias education system into the 21st century. But there is no mention in the CDTI about providing devices for reading the texts. Does it mean that students will need to have their own computers? Not every student has. Is the XO laptop cheap enough to give all students? What about a cooperation between OLPC and CDTI. Internet is a great treasure chest for learning!

I help out at the YMCA as a volunteer and swim instructor. Likewise, with the Humane Society, though I don't teach the dogs to doggy-paddle. I bought 4 of these - 2 for "overseas" and 2 for here... then gave my 2nd unit to some kids in Brazil.

Et si tu remplaces le mot éducation par propagande et mode de vie (consommation) à l'occidentale pour ne pas dire à l'anglo saxone, tu peux en conclure que c'est une manière douce d'abrutir ces gamins pour leur montrer qui c'est le patron sur cette planète (sous entendu qui impose son mode de vie).

Play is one of the most important way that children learn, so what if they play on their laptops? God forbid 3rd world children enjoy any of the pleasures available to wealthy children...
