  • whats different about the omni tune?

  • @tisBenG

Well it's 100% bubinga, regular Starclassic Bubinga has an outer layer of maple but the big difference is the tuning system. The omni-tune system allows you to tune the bottom head of each drum from the top side, not having to get the drum off the stand and flip it over to tune the bottom head or getting infront of the kick to tune the front. You can basicly tune the entire kit without leaving the drum throne.

A real time and frustration saver!

  • @Sabiano thats quite nice to have that, being able to tune from the throne, but is really worth it? does the kit still sound great, or better than other kits in the starclassic range? im guessing yes though

  • @tisBenG I was a little sceptic at first, the price is quite a bit higher but I can't imagine being without it. Definately worth every penny.

As for the sound, what's best is all preference. I love the sound of Starclassic Maple too but what I feel maple lacks is bottom end, the booty and Bubinga has all that, coupled with the character of maple. For me, bubinga is the ultimate, fullest tone, sharpest attack, lowest bottom end.

  • Raz! So good to see another post from you. Sounds like you've been practicing. Nice work and nice set! How is your son doing?

  • Hey BIllyBoy! Actually I've been on a down low on practicing lately with work and all but I'm gonna call in sick a couple weeks or something and get back on the horse ;-)

    Take care.

  • Hey Folks if your looking to buy a tama bubinga kit i have one for sale!! :)

  • @Sabiano cool, thank you for your time :)

  • Hey Sabiano, the legendary Bubinga kit has arrived! Amazing kit, and amazing drumming.

  • Awesome, enjoy those weeks off and I wish you the best. God Bless!

  • Thanks man! Words can't describe just how superior this kit is to the rest. The different tuning process felt like a little peculiar at first but it's worth the hassle...

I'll post some real studio drum tracks soon.

    Peace out.
