In my opinion the strings can and have handled harder arrangements. I think the band was just not together. you guys ROCK! (I was the bass yr after this)

I think every orchestra deserves a challenge every now and then, no matter how bad or good they may sound. They'll only come out better in the end.

Lolz nice....but the end was kinda of not together...Im playing that piece in my Orchestra right now..but it was good
-
haha, wow, I totally remember that concert.... waaaay back my freshman year! But wasn't that 2004, not 2003?
-
its slow but in fairness if it is just a high schools first time you gotta give em credit
-
It is for a more advanced Orchestra. My HS Orchestra in Wisconsin is doing it for contest and the conductor says it's a class A piece, that's "like DSSO (Duluth-Superior Symphony) music". We get our parts tomorrow. ._.
-
wow...i give them credit though...i just played this song in my town symphony and i found it really easy and im only 12...this is okay
-
This piece is prob for a more advanced orchestra. They should have looked into a simplified version. I don't think it is so much a fault of the orchestra as it was the director for assigning such a hard piece without getting to know the orchestra, as it was their first year.

i cant play this but i just got it today in class D:
it was good for a high school.. But the orchestra has to work on intonation and staying together. Plus you changed tempos several times. And Balance of the orchestra! Trumpet solo needs work.. violin solo good. after violin solo, high parts aren't intune. Balance seemed to be the major issue though..
Just some things to think about :)

Just a few things I might add : this was the school's first try at a full orchestra song (4 years ago). Nonetheless every issue you note is entirely true.
