use better than wolf that not need a lot of redstone i recomended for your base onli two block to use

ethos lab elevator,look for his tutorial,he made one on his lets play,i think it was on episode 144,maybe 143,its the best one i have ever found,if you wanna make one to transport blocks,you can check 81dwd tutorial,use MUCH more resources,almost 2 times more,but it is cool too.hope this helps! :)
