With that I should note, that while conventional IQ tests are good indicators of “crystallized intelligence”, they are ,generally, poor indicators of fluid intelligence. The later, is widely thought to be expandable, and there is now a good deal experimental evidence, to support this. Maybe one day we can scan a person’s brain and infer individual limitations, from elements of structure and reflex. But that day, has not yet come.

@zadeh79 I was refering more to the way the tests are scored, not the testing questions themselves. But interestingly enough, since my post a year ago, I've begun developing my own online I.Q test to address the problems I'm found in other tests.

@seplrm It depends, online IQ tests probably hold more validity until late adolescents when fluid intelligence is most expandable. If you come across one that is age-normed correctly, than it may in fact, hold more validity than conventional tests. This is because online tests are saturated with fluid properties, that require high levels of abstraction, and administered tests emphasized crystallized intelligence.

I teach English over seas, and I've met two children who I'd concider genius and that's it. I know a lot of wanna be genius' who've taken their bullshit internet tests, but these kids were brillant. The only two I've ever met. TickleIQ is crap, absolute crap. There is no way answering 25 similar weighted questions means my I.Q is a 150, the highest possible on that test. and Culture fair european is also crap. Highsociety is decent.

I.Q tests found on the internet are poorly scored. So many people I know inlcuding myself would be concidered genius with our 140, 150, 160+ I.Q's. But the truth is, most honest I.Q tests don't do well over 140. An I.Q of a 150 is suppose to be one in 5000. that means my friends and I met in a small school so the odds are about one and 20,000. Fat chance. Test the nation is probably more accurate than mr 152 would like to believe.
