Recorded February 16, 2009.

This was day #3 of my 16-day cruise. On this day we were sailing east off the coast of South America toward the Falkland Islands. The video begins with several dolphins swimming by the ship and concludes with the Captain's Welcome Reception where Captain Edward Perrin welcomes us on board.

  • every one on this ship looks over 60

  • @texasboy5680 Ecological reasons. They want to keep Antarctica a pristine place. Big ships were never allowed to travel any further south than the parallel of 65 degrees south. I don't know what the exact new limit is, but all of Antarctica is off limits to big ships.

  • @SammyTerry1313 aww man... u ruined my parents 35yr anniversary present.....lol...j/k..thats a shame about the large ships...so many ppl are turned off by the Antarctica cruises because the ships are so small and the cruises are normally 7-16 days...not typically the service, accommodations, amenities nor luxury one excepts on the larger ships..Was the reason for the large ship ban safety or low attendance rate, cause u would think those itinerary's would have been very profitable?

  • @texasboy5680 Unfortunately large ships are no longer allowed down there. This year was the last year that large ships were allowed. From now on small ships only.

  • wow....I never knew they had large ships going down to Antarctica..I always thought they used the smaller ships w/ the razor bows cause it was too dangerous...I been wanting to take my parents down there but worried that my parents would be afraid of the ship size....thanks for uploading... I need to look into this!!

  • great quality! I hear those waters around antarctica can get very rough, hope yours wasnt too heavy! Good job on this video!

  • @hoosiertim Omg - my 7 year old daughter (with Autism, who perseverates on cruise ships) wrote this. Sorry!
