The United States Senate on Thursday, July 16, 2009 in Room 538, Dirksen Senate Office Building, the COMMITTEE ON BANKING, HOUSING, AND URBAN AFFAIRS will meet in OPEN SESSION to conduct a hearing entitled Preserving Homeownership: Progress Needed to Prevent Foreclosures. The witnesses on Panel I will be: The Honorable Herbert M. Allison, Jr., Assistant Secretary for Financial Stability, U.S. Treasury; and The Honorable William Apgar, Senior Advisor to the Secretary for Mortgage Finance, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The witnesses on Panel II will be: Ms. Joan Carty, President and CEO of the Housing Development Fund in Bridgeport, CT; Ms. Mary Coffin, Head of Mortgage Servicing, Wells Fargo; Mr. Allen Jones, Default Management Executive, Bank of America Home Loans; and Ms. Diane E. Thompson, Of Counsel, National Consumer Law Center. Other witnesses may be announced.

  • 15 months later, and nothing has "changed" for the better. Click on my name to learn about important websites. Ms. Carty did not mention Parallel Foreclosure, although she did sort of describe it.

    Parallel Foreclosure is another malady that the banks impose on people before they can apply for HAMP.
