Blue Sharks, Gulf of Maine

A couple of blue sharks came in to disrupt our day of bottom fishing. Not worth the hook-up but fun to watch.

The blue against a jade green sea. One time I had these flat calm seas, a jade green patch of water, and this big bluedog that followed a redfish back to the boat. That was nice.

I caught one and tried to eat it many years ago. That was it for me. Now I don't even catch and release them. They're not the greatest fighters. They tend to roll a lot. I love seeing blue sharks in the wild. I read recently they have the best blood sense of any shark. Makos, whites and threshers will follow them to find food. Thanks for checking out the video. Btw, the guy playing my pollack and I are old party boat skippers. We've caught our share.

glad you didn't kill that blue because their populations aren't doing good these days. I love shark fishing but I always release.
