RTA SpeedBlitz Blues captain Simon Katich spoke out today to the media about the recent Cricket Australia contract decisions, his own personal playing future and then answered questions from the media.

Andrew hilditch and Greg chappell are at fault at this not Michael clarke.
Hilditch and chappell have caused the downfalls of careers e.g Nathan hauritz, brad hodge, Andrew symonds, and probably even more

even if he scores 329 i'd pick simon over michael clarke every day of the week.

bar mike hussey kat was the best batsman during the 2010 ashes while michael clarke (who is behind this) was the worst. and he got dropped? not to say they are bad players but punter and hussey are both older and they get to stay on. i was hoping clarke would lose his captaincy and have a crap series against india but i guess 329 just doesnt cut it.

Seriously Hilditch is pretty much saying that Katich is too old, what a load of crap. Let's look at past aussie players. Steve Waugh retired at 39, Allan Border retired at 39, Shane Warne retired at 37, Ricky Ponting and Michael Hussey are still playing aged 36. These players didn't go out to play cricket and let their age get in the way, neither did Katich. they were still playing very good cricket. The selectors decision to dump Katich because of age is based on invalid judgements of players.
