  • Good dances.

  • all I see is dancing for show and tourist, I dont see any cultural integrity at all, do any of you know the significants and meanings of the motions and actions that you rip off from other cultures like the cook islands

  • @gardenia2k10 even though this is not long ago, ori has evolved a lot, every halau (dance school) teach differently when it comes to names of the steps, even in Tahiti the names are different depending on were in Tahiti ur from, everything from how high the pareo should be, and how closed ur feet is...these days most dancers dance w their feet totally closed, meaning, ankles together, and no air in between at the front, not a -v shape! Reason for this is that it's no longer seen as pretty !

  • @TheJake404 in the past kuki airani usually did only small fa'rarapu, or only side to side, like tamau, but these days, they dance like Tahitians...Athea is right, it all lays in the details, kukis usually lower their arms more when dancing, while tahitians bring their arms outstretched, w a little bending in the wrist. They also don't tend to do so much extravaganza since they are very traditional...

  • @AtheaTahiti sorry if I offended u or seem liek a bitch lol, I'm not, I sometimes say things without thinking, I know I commented this 5 months ago, but my head are all clearer now lol, and thanks for ur input on this, after Moena, the best dancer in the world in my opinion left w Tumata to create Tahiti ora, I don't like LGBDT anymore, they seem to suffer under Lorenzo's whip...the group is not the same anymore...

  • u lala..all the best .......you are awesome!

  • Cool dancer.........!

  • i guess cookisland move side to side and tahitian is in circles

  • @TheJake404 Dunno. Slight differences I guess. Details. We share the same culture. The leader talking while dancin is more samoan but it fits perfectly. Head movements. It doesnt bother me, I just notice them. As long as it brings a smile on my face and make me want to dance too :D!
