  • First of all thank you for your service!

My older Brother was on the Nimitz at the time, he served 20 years in the Navy. My younger Brother, Army veteran of Desert Storm, he was a civilian at that time.

I was on my way to a class in the morning when I heard the news on the radio. I felt helpless. When I arrived to my class, 2 guys in my class were in the national guard and they left class and they were called to duty immediately.

Thank you, you story gave me a different prospective.

  • @ABQdoubleG Much respect to your brothers for serving. Thanks for your story

  • I will never forget that my brother yelled "God bless america!" after the news at home...

  • @ralfonzo83 ..about what happened. I was shocked, had tears in my eyes. And I felt so incredibly DUMB that I was pissed off all day because of my own minor problems at school. I'd say that day kinda changed me. It changed the whole world.

  • Thanks for sharing, Josh. It touched me. I would like to hear your Irak stories too.

At that day I just came from training school, totally fed up. It was very exhausting and shitty day at school so I was full of bad and angry feelings on my way home. When I opened the door my dad came to me and said that there was chaos in New York, talking about plane crashes and hostages and shit. I went into my room, switched the tv on and saw this giant cloud of dust over New York and heart the news...

  • Thanks for sharing your story... To put my story short I was shocked and so scared that I went and got my kids out of school that day. What I got out of it all was that life is so short and count your blessings. I cried a lot today remembering how I felt that day and thinking of all the people that lost their lives and their families. It was a very emotional day...

  • @paul1967uk You're an awesome human being. You're right. It wasn't just America that was affected by that day.

  • Josh this was so touching and to know that the Germans were laying flowers at the base is awesome!! I loved how the world wasn't divided then. You are right we were just americans that day. I will never forget the day and thanks for serving our country Josh!!! See ya at ST5!!!
