A look at an extended blue light run as part of a blue light course - approximately 30 minutes duration. The driver reacting to the actions of other road users and then planning his route. SPEED not being the issue, only to arrive at the 'JOB' without incident. All we need in these situations is other drivers to realise we are on a call and not to PANIC. So long as we can see you react, we can plan our next move.

  • Thank you for posting this video, I'm hoping on doing my emergency training for ambulance driving sometime next year, and this video is incredibly informative and gives a very useful insight into what to expect. From this video you are clearly a very good teacher! many thanks again.

  • The guy in the passenger seat is a natural teacher.

I would love to have him train me to drive like that.

When doing my HGV course, the instructor was a nasty, foul mouthed Welshman,I never felt at ease with him.Possibly the reason I failed my first two attempts,I switched instructor, who was a nice, calm bloke like the fellow here, and I passed.

Just goes to show that a calm, authoritative figure can, like the guy here, instill so much confidence in a trainee.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I personaly think you are one hell of an informative instructor and your area knowledge is second to none, knowing about the blind junction etc etc,,,well done ym friend keep the videos coming,,,they are of decent length and also high quality

  • @jgwhitham hmmm.... its hard to tell, as some forces do use automatic cars, however many forces do require you to be able/licenced to drive a manual car. Whether you will be able to be pursuit trained or not, that is a different matter, as before you can drive the BMW's, Audi's, Mercs, etc... that the traffic cops use, you would have to be qualified to drive a ford panda car, which would probably be a manual. Message me, as i'm running out of characters. (best to consult your force) Geko7844. !

  • @lamborghini0610

    Ford focus 1.9 tdci

  • The prat @ 3:29 -unbelievable idiot :/

  • I am eager to become a traffic officer hoping to join the police. I am dyspraxic and unable to drive a manual car will I still be able to fulfil my ambition of becoming a traffic officer who can be pursuit trained....

  • Do you think that flashing headlights are dangerous? I know all emergency veahicles' lights flash when you have the Blues on but at night when you are cornering at speed surely you need to see where the corners are!

  • @lukey123MW No! The answer is D. She comes to a complete stop in the fast lane, on a highway.
