  • The law is the law. The law does not care about parties. The Attorney General must follow his job description, investigate and prosecute where crimes are found. The congress must follow it's job description and do the same. We must affirm to ouselves and show the rest of the world we are a nation of laws.

  • You are just like those people Bill maher talked about recently on his new rules: Those who are living off achievements of past generations and take credit for something you had NOTHING to do with. Sorry bud, America isn't that country anymore. It is a country who tortures illegally and refuses to prosecute offenders, starts illegal wars, and impedes the progress of other nations.

  • i guess europeans have to sit around and criticize americans. how else should one treat the country that protected the world from fascism, communism and naziism/the nation whose scientists built the modern world/the only people who seem to care when fanatics call for the whole world to be subjugated to one dictatorial khalif. go ahead, hate americans, good for you. when your countries are conquered i hope you enjoy having to watch people being stoned to death in the streets.

  • have you forgotten that while europeans were sitting around drinking wine and criticizing americans, people in the US were developing the world's 1st computers, sending the 1st exploration vehicles to Mars, discovering DNA, inventing the 1st airplane, unlocking the power of nuclear fission and fusion, giving the world movies/the phonograph/the telephone and pretty every other mass communication technology, inventing the 1st steamboat, building the first steel frame structures and fiber optics

  • have you forgotten France folded against nazi attack in 24 hours & then the Vichy french government began shamelessly collaborating with the nazis/that Sweden never even TRIED to fight the nazis & even let them freely travel through swedish territory/that while millions were being tortured to death in Soviet gulags people in the countries you listed did NOTHING leaving the cold war to the US/if the US was shameless it too would have plenty of resources & money for running humane prisons.

  • they are more advanced in many ways. but considering the fact that the US has spent billions subsidizing them with the marshall plan and other post WWII programs, spent billions defending them during the cold war era and worked itself to the bone fighting the modern plagues of communism, fascism and naziism while they have spent the whole of the modern era sitting around thinking about social programs and caving in to tyrants, they should have all the energy they need to be "advanced."

  • One of us is having difficulty with logical thought.

    Consider this:

How many political or military prisoners are taken by Sweden France Norway Netherland sor Denmark compared to the number taken by the countries I mentioned.

  • GreatSatan: Again, it's a stupid question. Why do you compare developing countries+Isreal with "the leader of the world"?

    to answer your question. USA.

Now same stupid question to you: Which Country would you want to be in jail: Sweden, France, Norway, Netherlands or Denmark or USA?

All countries more developed then US, both socially and educationally.

  • Compare "jail" in the countries I mentioned to Guantanamo in US Cuba.

Sweden was not one of your choices.

  • GreatSatan1: First, your question is stupid. Who should be in prison for being suspected of something? If you suspect somebody for being a murderer you put him in prison? No!

You arrest him and put him on trial.

But "IF" i was "guilty" of being a suspected terrorist i would prefer to be in prison in my home country: Sweden. Not a country who thinks it has the right to take a human life= Death Penalty and i think thats what all the countries you mention has inn common. funnny eh?

  • I think we're both clear on the facts. We just disagree in our interpretations.

I don't think prosecuting the lawyers would end it. I think it's a good starting point that could eventually expand upwards. Just my opinion.

Put yourself in Obama's shoes, and imagine that you wanted to get Bush and co. for their crimes. I don't think it would be realistic to start at the top, it would take too much political capital. Best to start at the bottom, get the public on your side, and then move upwards.
