The Minnesota Wild's own Finnish Olympian, Niklas Backstrom!!!
An All-Star, a Vezina nominee, and an Olympian, all in the course of a couple of seasons. More importantly though, he is a remarkable athlete who combines skill with admirable focus, and as a Wild fan, I can say it is a true pleasure to watch him tend the nets for us.

A couple of years back the Finnish team Kärpät from Oulu had Bäckström as the starting goalie and Pekka Rinne as his back-up. Championships were won.
