Join the Impact prop 8 protest rally outside the City Hall of Riverside, CA.

Okay, I swear we chanted things other than "What do we want?" "Equal rights!" "When do we want them?" "Now!" It's just I realized I only had my camera on for those bits.

The song is It's About Time by Barcelona off of their album Absolutes.

  • I think it's kinda funny. November here in Sweden means snow, rain and like sometimes -10degrees celsius. It's sooo cold and winter. I ought to go to Cali some time during this time :P

  • Haha, winter in California is like diet summer. I'll so trade you.

  • Your city was a hotspot for Yes on 8 activity which is to be expected in a city so heavily influenced by the Grove & Harvest. This election was literally bought by out-of-state special interests and then sold by blatant lies regarding children and other fear tactics. Riverside needs enlightenment more than ever. If you voted yes on 8, you are anti-gay. Gay marriage will happen regardless of how much misleading moralistic propaganda you litter the media with. This is a civil rights issue.

  • People on the fences don't like to be yelled at. If I yell at you will you change your mind? Nelson Mandela kept his dignity. Stop yelling for God's sake. It makes you look terrible.

  • I wish the music wasn't so loud in this video. It kind of ruins it. BUT, I'm really happy folks in Riverside had a good turn out! :D

  • If you want to help change things in Riverside, please get in touch with the Jeffrey Owens Community Center. They will be coordinating all efforts in the IE from now on. We need all hands on deck. I spent my mornings before the election in front of Starbucks near UCR fighting the three corners for Yes folk with their signs and hatefulness. I wish someone else had decided to stop and join me in my little effort. Now we have a coordinating agency, and they need all of us to pitch in.

  • yup yup. I go to school in Riverside, and it was disgusting much anti-gay sentiment was popping around. and yes, skarudegirl88. they were. the day before the election, as I was driving home, there were lots of people and students protesting right outside UCR. god. I wanted to throw my burrito at them. we just have to keep on fighting and educating the world. =]

  • Yes they're were a lot of Yes on 8 going on here. If No on prop 8 would have organized themselves like they are doing now maybe it would have had a different outcome. I live near a Mormon church and they were at the intersection for 3 weeks straight. It's very republican here very close minded. College students here were congratulating themselves over voting Yes on 8.
