Händel: Let the bright Seraphim&fmt=18

Inger Dam-Jensen was born in 1964 in Copenhagen where she had her musical education too. In 1993 she won the international song contest in Cardiff: "Singer of the World". The same year she became a member of The Royal Danish Opera.
This recording is from the Cardiff-contest, where she even had the nerve to sing "Let the bright Seraphim" - the bravura aria of Dame Joan Sutherland, who was among the contest judges.

This was the very first time i ever heard Let the bright seraphim and it has remained one of my all time favourite, Inger's version is stil one of my faves.

She was 29 when she won this and sang this showing a maturity beyond her years.

She is a wonderful Handelian and has had a great career and has years ahead of her.

I love the change in vibrato speed at the 4:50 mark. It might have been a trill of sorts.
