In a way James caused the split. He put more pressure on Charlie and told him straight out he has to pick. Charlie couldn't understand why he couldn't be in both bands.

@smilerboyboy That sounds a lot like the Metallica argument back in I believe 2001. Jason Newsted wanted only music and he hated that they had to take breaks for the other members families and James Hetfield thought that all of his time should have been devoted to Metallica.
