@mag30th I'd say this feat of a Soldiers was either made up or incredible Luck. The Ammunition and Loads in Times of War during the Era of Muzzleloading tended to be far from ideal, on the Battlefield.

Someone probably told you this already, but the record may be held by Ben Powell, a confederate soldier who shot union general John Sedgwick in the head from a range of 798 yards using a black powder muzzle loading whitworth rifle.

@happyman489 Yes, and thank you! But the shot by Ben Powell's Whitworth was with a .45 caliber flat-based bullet, Im trying to determine if there is any history of the furtherst shot-hit with a .58 cal mini. But thank you again for your reply, Ernest.

I've been watching your videos for quite a while now and this is one of my favorites. I especially like the fact that you family is involved in your demonstrations. Theres so much negative crap going on in the world and in our own country it gives me hope to see young people involved in traditional pursuits. Is that a Pedersoli rifle? I heard they are some of the best and I'm thinking of buying one.
