  • This mod looks really good. Just a suggestion: the video would be even better if you compared the modded Lynx and a normal Lynx next to each other. And one question: a see that there is something about the improved battery life. Am I right that it can work for 12 hours with 6 rechargeable battery? Because that would be amazing.

  • @kosztaz87

I have not made the comparison with a conventional lynx because they see no difference. with eyes we can see the different lighting, but not with the camera.

And yes it can take 12 hours with rechargeable batteries

  • Nice mod - I'll have to do this to mine. However, I think I'll just replace the bulb with a tube with the correct opacity. By the way, I think you need more copies of Xybots...

  • @BufferOverflow1 "I think you need more copies of Xybots." Ahahahahah it is true ;)

  • Girls with Glue Guns!

  • Also, make sure you use ultra bright LEDs for this; I'd suggest using 2-4, wired in parallel (all corresponding LED terminals connected together, connected to power source).

  • I did this with my Game Gear a few years ago, now the screen is quite dark. Also, make sure you get the resistance right if you ever do this, or the LEDs will burn out after a while. I had three of my LEDs burn out so far over time.

Now my Game Gear is running on only one LED, lol. Lots of battery life is saved, however.

Also, don't bother with putting in a tube, it will only make the light dimmer.

I wouldn't dare try this with my two Lynx... to expensive to replace for me; GG was only $8.

  • I'll be dipped... this actually works! You should probably tell readers what KIND of LEDs to use for this mod, though. I bought bright whites and they washed out the screen. Also, opening the fluorescent bulb is risky as there's a lot of pressure inside. Once it's cracked open the cap will pop off like a rocket, possibly cutting your finger in the process.

  • Cute kid :D

  • Hi!

I didn´t that your wife make all the work for you! :-)

Good work, i will do the same as soon as i find some minutes to do.

I will order the LEDs today. :-)

    Regards Lynxman
