First, I want to thank Charlie Chaplin for his magnificent performance here, his mimic and gestures are simply overwhelming. I want to thank everyone who was involved in creating this movie, and especially this timeless, brilliant and heartrending final speech (70 years ago!).

Second, I want to thank Hans Zimmer for this beautiful and epic song. A song that brings tears to my eyes and a smile on my face at the same time, everytime I listen to it.

Finally, I am thankful for the very moment I had the idea to combine these two masterpieces of art. Together they conjure hope to my mind, courage to my heart.

There are no cuts. Speech and song just fit great together. I only decreased the volume of the music a bit in the later parts so it does not cover the speech that much, as some of you noted.

My favorite moment is at ~2:30, the camera zooms on Chaplin's face... "... but in all men, in you! You, the people have the power! The power to create machines, the power to create happiness! You, the people have the power, to make this life free and beatiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure! ..."

Inconceivably awesome. I love it.

Thanks a lot for the comments and inputs of the old (out-of-sync) version & enjoy the new one!

The saddest and most disturbing thing about this video is that even with all of it's truths and irrefutable logic we have ignored the lessons of this video and in stead of measuring our wealth in happiness we still measure it in $, £, €, and ¥.

Personally, I love Gangnam Style but you are right. It amazes me that this has only 382,363 views and it amazes me even more to see that seventy of those viewers left a DISLIKE!

Isn't that history, learning about people who haven't learned from the past. It's only natural that history repeats itself every now and then.

Capitalists say: Money of the world, UNITE!

Communists say: Proletarians of the world, UNITE!

But we say: PEOPLE OF THE WHOLE WORLD, UNITE!

Gangnam style is comedy, it makes people smile. Charlie chaplin did it during his time... he did something crazy, became actor when everyone thought television had no future, and he did comedy, making so many people smile and laugh.... I bet someone laughed at his films saying that man with a funny mustache and hat, swinging his cane is stupid.

it really wasn't my purpose to sound ignorant, and of course it wasn't meant to be like the best example for all the problems of this earth. I just wanted to complain about the way we use to use the media, that we can and should focus and inform ourselves on/about other, more important things, like the Tar Sands Mining in Canada, and the topics you already made reference to. I'm sorry if you missunderstood me.

or that your example and complaint, notwithstanding its ignorance, chooses to focus on an entertainment video when so many people are tortured, murdered, etc. every day. wolf-pac (dot) com
