Australian vw beetle information film made in 1964. It shows the australian way of life, and how - of course - the vw beetle fits perfectly in that way of life.

The was the result of a cooperation between the australian government and volkswagen australasia. The vw plant was establised in Australia from 1959, which - of course - boosted the australian economy. That's what explains the coproduction of this short film.

It's fun to watch the more than 40 year old documentary footage of 'aussies' working, recreating and doing their thing, with the vw beetle! The oldfashioned voice over, the faint kodachrome color, it all brings me back to the '60's when life just seemed a little less complicated.

wow there was a bit of traffic back then...i thought that we of today only suffered that pain..but i guess least they had the weekends..no 24/7..i got my licence in 1983 and supermarkets closed 12 pm on saturday no meat was sold after 12 pm no atm machines banking was done friday afternoon now there open 7 days a week where i live..who was better off ?
