No its not what i mean, you cable is not the problem, its the tip of it who act like a antenna. Your coil once pulsed generate a field, one is near field and the second is the far field , the near field is full of interference and can affect any electronic device to a certain point, event with filter.

This was a really old video I re-found on disc...I only noticed this while running the Avremenko plug...and only while in resonance. If the frequency isn't resonating the RLC circuit it doesn't do this

Hi
Does the waveform change when you change the 555 frequency?

@Crippled82
I accidentally erased your question....but the answer is I never noticed w/o the AV plug

It look like a bad probe isolation
IceStorm5555 2 years ago
Probe isolation from what?....there is no connection and the power circuit is ran from a battery.

you pulse a coil no ? so a RF/EM field is generate and influence your bad looking probe.Cmon lol its realy simple to understand why you get that on your scope.You dont need to connect the probe to get that if the isolation of it is not good.

@IceStorm5555
I am using a shielded coaxial cable (outer wire being grounded), used for UHF(ultra high frequency) signals...I have no snubbers...if that's what you mean...my point is resonant frequency filling local space.

I see that on my scope all the time with nothing connected. Perhaps inductance?

It's either inductive...or capacitive.
