Superb performance! The pianist is obviously having a great time.

This piece has always been identified as uniquely New York in nature, with its loud, brassy announcement of a chaotic, bustling city in the first quarter of the 20th century, thus making it an important part of American music.

I believe the pianist was possessed by Gershwin. He played so damn well! Bravo.

¡excelente!

Tempo way too slow. Instead of being "majestic" it is merely ponderous.

Your comment about race is absurd. Gershwin was inspired by the valuable contribution of African American musicians. That was a good thing.

His work was great in part because it ignored artificial racial boundaries, saw past skin color, and expressed universal human values.

Now you want to reimpose racial segregation?
