Burning Angels [バーニングエンジェルス] Game Sample - PC/Doujin

Hmm...Burning Angels...a game from "DAN" of Retsuzan. Retsuzan has made some pretty decent games...this one is O.K., but it has a problem; the music doesn't seem to work right. Most versions of the game don't play sound. This version, the DLsite version, DOES have sound, but it doesn't play back right in Versus mode or Practice mode. For that reason, I don't really recommend buying the game, since there are no patches or updates (that I know of) that fix or even address the issue. What happens is that the character selection music plays WITH the music of whoever on Versus mode...so two songs are playing at the same time and overlapping, making the sounds and music generally impossible to listen to. Therefore, unless you play with no sound on Versus mode, you can only really hear the game normally during the Single Player mode.

With that out of the way, the visuals are pretty nice and the music is pretty average; nothing out of the ordinary. I give the game brownie points though for having an ending song...and I give the song major props because it's sung by a Japanese MAN...I haven't heard a song from a Japanese guy in a while.

The game is about "Pro Wrestling" and you can perform a few wrestling moves. You can throw an opponent into the ropes and perform various grabs (including grabbing a downed opponent), but the game is still a fighting game at heart and there are a few special moves and such too. GodGirl (The super heroine type) is generally the cheapest character in the sense that she has super powered projectile super moves; one for mid range and one that goes across the whole screen.

You can break out of throws, do some juggles, and the game has seven playable characters (eight if you use Miss X-File, only usable in Versus mode). Because of the music overlapping issue, it feels sort of like having only half a game, but oh well.
