I really like his version of this song. His guitar playing is right on & his voice is close to Peter Rowans on the hi notes. I added 2 my favs..sent him a question, got no answer? I'm new to this format. Is it so that persons you reply to do not respond to your questions. Every one else did. can any one explain, please?

Truly superb, outstanding, moving and soulful. My father had it on a 45rpm record by G Jones in the 70's and I have never been able to find it since I left home. As good as any young guns in country today. Thank you Allan

Thanks Ibane... I been trying to remember the name of that Vern Gosdin song... For a while now my mother use to have that sound track she listened to it alot after my father passed away. I could not remember the name for the life of me..."Chisled in Stone" ... It would be interesting to hear Allan Spinney do that one how about it man??? I have probably replayed this post a thousand times myself I love it!

I love this version the old guitar picking Allan does a great job with this one. I grew up around family who played the old style banjo, violin, and guitar players who could pick a tune like this it reminds me of sitting around with family and listening to them play. My grandfather handcrafted Violins he played some of the old appalacian mountain music which we all called foot stomping music. You dont hear this kind of picking in country music anymore...

There use to be the old classic old house that was done by George Jones on this site but from what my understanding they removed it due to some copyright issues or something to that effect.

What a pleasure Allan this was, this is stuff we grew up on. This passes for good old mountain music anyday, and from one guitar picker to another.... that was some really nice guitar work, man i'd like to spend a few months sitting and picking with you.
