@justforever96 Yes they can be pushed off and started then popped out of gear and coast back to their pits with the engines running to warm them up. Once they are warmed up they shut them off and push them off again when it is time to race. They don't usually drive around pits in gear because they don't go slow very well and since they are designed to mostly turn left at speed they can be a bit unpredictable so most teams have some sort of 4 wheeler or ATV to push them around with.
If a Sprint Car has no gearbox or clutch, can it be taken out of gear and stopped, without shutting the engine off? And can you put it back into gear while the engine is running, or do you have to shut it off, and get another push? And I'm guessing this has something to do with "putting heat in the engine"...you have to idle it to get it warmed up, shut it off, roll onto the track, and get another push start to start it again?
