  • is fake,the first video

  • Just to add to the comments from others, it really isn't about "who is the best" at this level of their playing, it is about whose interpretation we as a listening audience prefer. That is the true beauty of the music. If they all played everything exactly like each other we would have no need for more than one, instead it is a chance for us to enjoy different interpretations of the same thing and then take our own ideas and enjoyment away from that.

  • vizzutti for sure

  • allen vizzutti is the best hands down!!1

  • I really enjoyed the way Vizzutti got that oboe sound out of the horn - even the characteristic squeaks and style from oboe players. It was like an entire concerto with a string part, oboe part, and strings. Nakariakov made a nice technical display of circular breathing.

  • @825msp How can you say that? Nakariakov plays everything flawlessly with beautiful tone and articulations. Showmanship and creativity don't really make him better. They may make him more fun to see live, but if you're listening to a recording, you don't care about showmanship, and creativity doesn't matter so much if you're playing a common piece written by someone other than yourself. The question was who is a better player, and they're about as even as they get for playing different styles.

  • How is this even a question? Vizzutti is far superior. He's noticeably better in terms of raw technique, and has miles on Nakariakov in terms of musicianship, creativity, and showmanship. He's also a composer and huge promoter of the arts.

This question is like, "who's the real King of Pop -- Michael Jackson, or the backup singer for your garage band?"

  • How can you compare the two? They both have different styles of playing. Music is not a competition as people make it to be. They have both worked hard to get where they are now and you shouldn't be critical and judge their style of playing.

  • @kingsminstrel apparently the Mendez one isn't circular breathing. He recorded the whole thing in four takes and stuck them together, can't remember where I read it but I'm sure you can find it online.

  • turn the volume up
