On a bright, chilly November 12 at Turner Field, hundreds of Atlantans took action for their health at Kidney Action Day Atlanta.

Fulton County Commission Chairman John Eaves encouraged all those in attendance to take advantage of the American Kidney Fund's free health screenings to learn if they were at risk for kidney disease. And Angel Barrera, a pediatric kidney patient whose artwork graces AKF's 2012 wall calendar, was on hand to cut the ribbon to start the Steps that Count walkathon.
