  • @jimmyjimbo72 From what I've been told, the Orange mast was taken down months ago resulting in awful signal for any Orange contracted mobiles. If this is true, there is no reason or purpose for the Polo Tower to stand where it does today.

  • Yes they did TJDG1, they then sold the land to Morrisons.

  • Morecambe is where Frontierland was located. It's a northwest seaside resort in England, close to the likes of Blackpool.

  • There used to be an aerial on the polo towers for mobiles. Now there isn't so it could easily be taken down lol

  • Thanks for the comments guys.

  • Try telling that to the council. I think they lack in understanding there's nothing particular to visit Morecambe for.

You can do everything in practically 2 hours.

RIP fountierland

  • What a shame. I had plenty of good trips to Frontierland in my 20s. The big rollercoaster was great. Too good to be pulled down. The most terrifying ride was the wild mouse. The scariest rollercoaster I've ever been on in my life...

  • I was at Morecambe A couple of months ago, the polo tower was still standing

  • Really really sad!!!

I have some of the happiest memories in Morecambe. I grew up in Barrow In Furness and loved going to Frontierland with my Grandad and family. I visit regular now to Morecambe with my family and it really does make me sad to see the state it is in at present. I tell my little 5 year old girl what happy times her Daddy spent here on all the rides when I was a child.

THE COUNCILLORS ARE A COMPLETE DISGRACE IN THIS NEIGHBOURHOOD AND SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!

  • wow some great memories of this place, brought a tear to my eye :(

Wish it was still open, if i won the lottery id buy and restore it.

  • Morecambe had a brilliant theme park that is long missed. RIP :(

  • i like poo

  • @OrmerodJ I think there still is as the contract for the mobile mast doesn't run out until 2013.

  • my dad used to work there and then he got moved to gotts and that got burnt down
