  • In a way you are right. Most Tai Chi teachers have either no knowledge or little experience in making Tai Chi work on the street. I am fortunate enough to have a teacher who has applied Tai Chi in real life. It has become an art practiced by nansy new agers and the martial aspect has been lost. Very few even in Taiwan and China still know the real fighting applications.

  • My first Tai-chi teacher told me a mastery of tai chi must be learned well before one can go on to skillfully execute Kung Fu, yet so many who say say they know Kung Fu know so little Tai Chi!

  • i m the best fighter in the world

  • @MathinusG You are absolutely right my friend. I, like you am also fortunate to have a teacher with that knowledge and skill. I feel very privileged.

  • 2:32 Playing the guitar solo.

  • This video is great, it shows the actual martial arts concepts behind the movements., and they would still work for self defense purposes. But, would not be effective against a trained fighter, since students do not train for full contact fighting They usually don't even know or care about fighting. Also, I think the arguments about "my stye can beat up your stye" belong in an old 70s kung fu flick. Even if you know every style, there is somebody out there who can kick your ass .

  • @marek yep In Judo you learn to be on the recieving end of the attack first, in Tai Chi you build up your Chi strengh (relaxation) and work on explosiveness (a skill not to be taken lightly) both will work wonderfully in conjunction with one another... Ive been doing martial arts for long enough (im 25 started at age 4) to know full well that find the right teacher then you can learn all that goes with the art and learn to make it work. do you take your training home with you?

  • @smokinthepot because when you go to a judo class, it looks like this: Lesson1: teach you how to fall in a safe way, ground sparring, Lesson2: teach you how to fall, ground sparring, first throw, Lesson3.... etc.

Taichi: Lesson1: we will tell you all you need to know about chi, Lesson2: let's try the first 10 moves from the form and tell you how to breathe so the energy is around you...

Can you see the difference? I have been doing martial arts for many many years mate!

  • @marekmaxpabianice Why would you class judo as a different type of art, even with Judo it takes years to master.... Your just young nieve and will listen avedly to anything a ring commentator tells you without seeking truths for yourself... I will spend a life time at my chosen arts you can take a 6 month course and give yourself a false sense of invinsibility.... When you face another man in the cage/ ring and they go overb oard and snap your arm you will wisen up some son...

  • @smokinthepot do you know what a DISCUSSION is? do whatever you want, you want to believe that there is sth like 'taichi combat' - your life, but pls do not advertise it on youtube, do not put it on posters as people might believe it is true and it is not fair really.. you will spend 25ys learning forms and applications and the same result will give you a 6 month judo course, even better. Tai Chi is great for your health, it MIGHT teach you some self-defense but in a limited way

  • @marekmaxpabianice Do you seek the path of a fighter? picking fights through insulting video's subtle or straitout on the net is only a cowardly act that shows you dont know what to do with your time. Go take a bjj lesson or any martial art for that matter....

  • @marekmaxpabianice that tai chi practitioner is one of the many, you shouldn't get it into your head just from that. Especially since you mock Tai Chi, you shouldn't have watched this video
