Demolition Day at Kampung Buah Pala

August 3rd is when the villagers from Kampung Buah Pala are supposed to evict. The landowner, Koperasi and developer Nusmetro, both said to be linked to UMNO have threatened that demolition will be carried out.

In the morning, Hindraf, Makkal Sakthi, MIC and several NGOs are seen at the village. They went to Komtar to protest and handover a memorandum. Police gave them 10 minutes to disperse, which they did.

Citizen Journalist Chan Lilian who attended a press conference by CM Lim Guan Eng on the Penang State Gov.'s latest stand shares what CM Lim said. At the same time, CJ Lilian also met up with T. Mohan who is the MIC Youth and asked him why MIC councillors and Exco did not do anything to stop the transaction of the land when they were the ruling Barisan Nasional party. Listen to what T. CJ Lilian, though do not wish to take sides, thoroughly sympatises with the villagers who seem to have no voice of their own because their voices were drowned by the various political parties who have political agendas of their own.
