This video shows a small fabrication of 1" sch 10 316 stainless pipe and fittings that are being welded by me when I was welding in a shop in the Dallas area earlier this year.

  • Do it that way if you want, if you can get the inspector where you work to buy it that way..... Here, they wanted what I was doing.

I remember being 19..... Make you a deal, weld another 40 years, then we'll give each other advice and trade pointers. :-)

  • I ain't gonna argue with that. I live in Texarkana (on the TEXAS side).

    ;0)

  • it dont look god,

  • @pabgoa well, it's now installed at Bristol/Myers Squibb somewhere in Massachusetts, so apparently THEY liked it, lol. You gotta please the inspector.

My Hispanic friend, best stainless fusion welder I thought I knew, failed to pass their inspection, but that is neither here nor there, I still think he's an ace. Think he got some bad purge.

  • @frozenmolson Now now, go back under the bridge.

  • Nice blowing out the bevel edges with your hot pass that would make your cap about a half inch wide ,I am actually surprised of the coloring how many wire wheels did you go through to shine her up ?Everyone knows that double 90's is where blockage starts whats your point that it's hard?Where was the golden arm welding at ?why even post this crap on the internet really go back to texas or lousiana and come up with a better idea

  • you where carving to deep... im 19 years old have been sanitary welding for 3 years. learn to walk the cup and weld at like 50 - 60 depending on what machine you use. i use a small miller maxstar and weld between 50-60.

  • @Gun1991Slinger .............The best welders in the world have a Class "A" Nuclear Vessel certification to weld on Nuclear submarines... and welders that weld the oxygen tanks for space exploration............the rest of us are just run of the mill dirt bag welders working for less than minimum wages.......

  • @raginroadrunner so true, i havent been welding for that long, but i noticed that, like pipeline welders

have a hard time going down to the small stuff, like there clueless

  • I

After welding since 1963, what I found is that once a guy welds nothing but pipe, for long periods of time, it gets to where that is about all he can do...they seldom make good structural/heavy equipment welders ever again. Not all of them...but darn sure most of them.

  • Nice- congrats on them liking it...
