I wish we had HDTV back in these days.

@arenasnow To be fair to NASCAR tho, at least they're not putting lapped cars in the front of the field now.
-
@erasetoimprove This race caused NASCAR to make that rule because Rusty's wreck caused everybody to think double-file restarts were dangerous at the end of the race. Then NASCAR in its infinite wisdom today effectively brought that back with shootout-style restarts.

PRICELESS! Only 10 years old when I recorded this as a kid ...So Many Memories!!
-
I never realized before, but there was no single file start with less than 10 laps to go back then? I have been watching since '87 I just didn't remember the 10 lap or less single file rule not existing.

Rusty spins and gets airborne.

Bob, Benny and Ned...none better!

ernie almost swep both dega races that season

Not necessarly Earnhardt's fault. Its the last lap, racing is hard, and he probably caught a good draft.
I'm even saying this as a Rusty Wallace fan. I think it was even proven that Earnhardt didn't try to wreck Rusty at all with the concern he shows.

Yeah, lets see Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards do this if they were in this situation.
"Ernie Irvan wins and Rusty spins" classic!
