A nation that previously had money to burn descended en masse on stores where, for a single coin, you could walk out with anything from clothing to tools to office supplies. And now that the economy is in recovery? 100 Yen Shops are more popular than ever. And the most popular by far is Daiso.

I only buy things which are made in Japan or Korea in daiso store.
Taiwan too but I saw very few of them, Made in China sounds totally not good. :)

Things that say Made in China, Made in Korea, Made in Taiwan, etc. usually just mean the container it's in. The product was made in it's original country, but the container and design are most likely made in a different country.

I love the blatant stereotyping at the end.. it's VERY laughable. Especially because i now there's a low ball culture blow to the koreans and chinese as well as the middle easterners. They're implying that other asian are cheap, and by low end cosmetics [Japanese have a tendency to think they are the superior asian race].. and the middle eastern bit is obvious.. : ]

We have a Daiso in Vancouver, Canada too... but a lot of the products are actually made in China (not Japan). It's a little deceiving as the packaging is in Japanese, but then it says Made in China or Made in Korea.?
