well then you better take better care of the truck... My dads friend has a '08 Silverado that he got in October of '08 and theres no rust on his truck. and he lives in New Hampshire where there is salt on the road all winter.

You ought to see my New 2008 Silverado (12/31/2008) it has RUST on the rear axel, on welds on the frame, on suspension parts, front spendals, and the engine. GM reps. have said the RUST is normal for all their pickups, then they said it is an enviromental concern. They said this kind of rust is not covered. It had the rust before I bought it. Quality is a word GM does not know the meaning of!

You ought to see the under side of my NEW (12/31/2008) 2008 Silverado, lots of rust on the suspension and engine and little response from customer no service. GM contends it is due to enviromental concerns since it was manufactured in Canada. They said the rust was probably started by salt on the roads during transport. One of their reps said somtimes they do not paint their engine blocks that is why it is rusting. Don't expect much from GM. Rusty Silverado
