http://www.nigeriawebradio.com | In September 2007, Hon. Patricia Olubunmi Etteh faced a committee of the house over accusations that she had authorised the spending of 628 million Naira on renovations of her official residence and that of her deputy, and the purchase of 12 official cars meant for the House of Representatives. Accusations of theft were chanted at her as she tried to speak in the House. She was consequently removed as the speaker on October 30, 2007 over the allegations, though she was never officially indicted.
On June 2, 2011, she spoke at the valedictory session of the house challenging anyone with information of her wrong-doings to make such information public. The house subsequently passed a resolution lifting all forms of indictments that led to her removal as Speaker.
