I dunno, it was very educational. I don't mind debates on my videos so long as they don't devolve into 'You suck!' 'No, you suck!' 'Your MOM sucks!'

I think you don't really realise how much of 'science' can be questioned. You say that there is a thorough process, which is often true, but in other cases it is only what the evidence suggests. Universe and evolution are to of the best examples of these - these beliefs are not as ultimate as you seem to think.

@jesterheadflame666 Science IS and has to be questioned.

If you just look at the evidence you'll probably realise that evolution is very much real and has been OBSERVED, yes, we have watched evolution and made predictions based on it, performed expirements with the expected results not only on bacteria but a variety of animals and it is as expected.

Observe the evidence for the darwinian origin of morals rather than jumping to unfounded assumptions.

@jesterheadflame666 Evolution has been proven through experimentation and accurate prediction, as has the fact that we live in a huge universe. It's not merely looking at animals and saying "this happened" as is the case with religion. Judging by what you've said i think I know a little more about scientific method and how we know evolution is true than you do. No offence intended there.

@jesterheadflame666 The point you seem to be trying to make is that there is more in the universe than what can be experienced physically, that there are spiritual things. That's inconsequential if the 'spiritual' stuff has no impact on the physical.

Your other point is that scientists are sometimes wrong, that's true. But nothing is accepted as true in modern science unless it has been proven. If it's not proven then it's a hypothesis or conjecture and is treated as such.

Of course it didn't - proper religions do not pretend that any of their folklore or mythology or the people/ events in them made any major impact on the real world. A proper mythology is not supposed to pretend these things, though people clearly used to believe in them from different religions - they are supposed to teach, to inspire, and in these mythologies we can get a fascinating glimpse of what people thought like back then.

@jesterheadflame666 Mythologies are nice stories yes. But by no means true, we should let them get in the way of finding the truth.

All science is is evaluating evidence and forming conclusions from them, then testing those conclusions to be sure they are true.

We can be sure we're right when we make an accurate prediction based on something we have discovered when we test it.

Research is readily available to anyone who wants to have a look. See for yourself.

bollocks - 'part of evolution'? Right, sure it is...I agree that there is such a thing as moral evolution, but not in that sense.

@jesterheadflame666 A species with a predisposition to take into consideration the needs of it's peers either due to genetics or enviroment is more likely to survive than one that doensn't. Those genes are honed through natural selection (a similar process to domestication) and those conducive enviroments continue to be populated. As a result you end up with it ingrained in you that it is good to be nice to other people. It's more complex than that but it's the gist of it.
